In spring of 2005 i took a sabatical from Auckland life and went on a 15 week extended tramping trip of the South Island of NZ. This is a blog type picture journal of that trip. 15 weeks, 1000kms walked and 50,000m climbed. Heres a list of the gear I took on this trip, with comments on quality and usefulness.
Five days in West Arthers Pass National Park. And a harsh but interesting introduction to the park it was to be. This trip got severely modified by the weather. A big low pressure system passed over the SI bringing lots of snow.
